Each of the models is efficient but the fuel economy of the Corolla varies mainly across the different transmissions. The most efficient gasoline engine of the new Corolla lineup allows the model to achieve up to 31 miles per gallon in the city and 40 miles per gallon on the highway. However, when equipped with its hybrid powertrain, the Corolla is capable of traveling up to 53 miles per gallon in the city and 52 miles per gallon on the highway.
