Toyota's recent Super Bowl commercial, "The Longest Chase," depicts a Prius manned by a group of fugitives outrunning the cops. To catch them, the police must bring in a hybrid car of their own.
It sounds like a fantasy, but in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, it's real life.

The short documentary film, "Hybrid Law," follows the Arkadelphia Police Department as they transition from using outdated Crown Victoria police cruisers to the Toyota Camry Hybrid.
Old fashioned veteran officer Don Cleek says when he heard about the hybrids, he was "dead set against it. Police cars are supposed to be rear-wheel drive, V8 and a lot of room, and able to go through ditches."
When his partner upgraded to a Camry Hybrid, however, Cleek found himself struggling to keep up on winding roads. His big rear-wheel drive V8 couldn't corner, and couldn't accelerate like the Camry. Not to mention, he needed to stop for fuel several times per shift, while the Camry is good to go all day on a single tank.
