Ever since the early 2000's, the American manufacturing industry has been dwindling, to the chagrin of the middle class. It's simply cheaper, in today's global economy, to outsource labor elsewhere. Even the Detroit-based automakers that still assemble many of their models domestically are building them with parts manufactured abroad.

So how do you make an informed decision to support American jobs?

Cars.com looks at each vehicle model sold in U.S. markets, and finds out where they are built, and where their parts came from. It then ranks models that are built in the United States, with at least 75 percent of their parts sourced in the United States on the American-Made Index (AMI).

This year, out of all of the hundreds of nameplates you can buy in America, only eight met those two simple requirements.

At Charlie's Toyota, we're proud that the Toyota Camry and the Toyota Sienna both ranked high on the AMI, coming in first and third respectively.

Many other models in our new inventory here at Charlie's Toyota in Augusta were also assembled in America, and contain a large number of American-made components. Check out a map of Toyota's USA operations on their website, or contact us to learn more.
